Pebble chin also known as orange peel chin is a condition caused by excessive flexing of the chin muscles. For those with this condition it appears that their chin is bumpy and uneven. This condition is easily treated with anti-wrinkle injections which relaxes the chin muscles that cause the uneven appearance. Bumpy or lumpy skin on the chin also appears as you age, this is called the ‘orange peel’ or as the French put it the ‘peau d’orange’ effect. As the chin loses volume, the muscles (mentalis muscle) around the chin which make up much of the soft tissue volume of the chin creates this rippled effect.
